Packing to go back to SJGH –Mar 14, 2009
It's finally here!!! I leave been waiting to go back to The Gambia for months and I final have my chance. I leave Wednesday. It hasn't quite hit me that I'm going to be back at the Sulayman Junkung General Hospital as of next weekend!! It will be quite a moment when I see the installed panels. I will be sure to update you on the progress of the installation as soon as I get back. There will be pictures...
I've already packed my bugspray, safety pins, camera, crystal light, reflex hammer, stethoscope, snack bars, and all of my clothes. Also, I'll be bringing some medical supplies and literature donated by Del-Med Aid for Gambia. All of this, along with gifts for everyone who has helped with the project, have to fit in my camping backpack. We'll see how that goes...
This trip is going to be extra special because I will be traveling with family, PUG volunteers, and a documentary filmmaker (who has been following PUG for the last year).
The only thing standing between me and the trip is a neuroscience exam. I certainly can't wait until that is over and I'm on the plane. :-)
