In 2026, Power Up Gambia will begin to wind down our operations in The Gambia. As The Gambia is now increasingly embracing the importance of solar energy with numerous new projects and partners, we feel The Gambia has reached the inflection point where our mission is now being met by other solar energy projects and funders. 

In this context, Power Up Gambia will start transitioning its responsibilities to a new generation of project developers by 2026.  While this bittersweet transition marks the culmination of our journey,  Power Up Gambia takes pride in the impact it has made and we believe we helped inspire others to advance sustainable energy initiatives throughout The Gambia. 

None of this could have been done without the valuable support received from supporters, partners and stakeholders throughout the process. Each solar panel they helped install represents a significant stride toward a healthier and more sustainable future for all. Power Up Gambia takes pride in the impact it has made and that we inspired others to advance sustainable energy initiatives in The Gambia. 

While we will continue to accept donations of some solar and or medical devices, we will not be soliciting monetary donations or placing volunteers in The Gambia moving forward.
